  • One-Legged Wrestling Legend -- I'M UNRETIRING for Wrestling's Last Olympics

    Exclusive

    0215-anthony-robles-getty

He's a living legend in collegiate wrestling -- becoming a freaking NCAA champ despite having just ONE LEG -- and now, he's coming out of retirement to train for the 2016 Olympics ... because it's the last chance he'll get at Olympic gold.

You'll recall, the IOC has eliminated wrestling from the Olympics following the 2016 games in Rio -- which means Rio will be the last Olympic games to feature the sport. (It's being replaced by field hockey. Seriously.)

Now, 24-year-old Anthony Robles -- who won the 2010-11 NCAA individual championship in the 125-pound weight class while at ASU -- tells TMZ, "If this is the last chance to be at that elite level, I want to represent my country and try and take home the gold."

He adds, "The Olympics is the highest level for wrestling ... There isn't a higher platform to reach for."

Robles unofficially retired from the mat 2 years ago .. and has since worked as a motivational speaker -- but he adds, "I never said I was retired completely."

Biggest Loser's Mike Dorsey: I Was 'Committing Suicide' By Overeating

Michael Dorsey says he turned to The Biggest Loser because he was tired of committing a slow "suicide."

"I don't understand why I was so willing to sacrifice my life when it was something I could fix," Dorsey told reporters of weighing 444 lbs. when he began the show. "I realized that my headspace wasn't right."

On the ranch, Dorsey, 34, was able to make the mental shift necessary to begin losing weight and became a frontrunner for the title of The Biggest Loser – a circumstance he feels ultimately led to being voted out by his housemates, including roommate and alliance member Jeff Nichols.

"Jeff and I are in a good place. We have talked and he has his reasons for what he did. And even without his vote I was still going home," Dorsey said. "I guess some would argue that they would have been stupid for not voting me out because I was a big threat."

But in the week before he was sent home, Dorsey spent 24-hours with his wife and baby son, "Little" Mike, on the ranch as part of a prize gifted to him by fellow contestant Dannielle Allen.

"I was blessed that my wife got to spend a day [on the ranch] because when I got home it made it much easier [because] she understood, 'Yes, you've got to get your burn. You've got to eat by a certain time.' She's really caught the vision," Dorsey said.

Now 124 lbs. lighter and back at home in Baltimore, Dorsey is continuing on his weight-loss journey but is embarking on another adventure as well – rollercoasters!

"I'm trying to ride rollercoasters all over the country," he said. "This is an exciting moment for me because it's something I haven't been able to do for several years."

And while he considers himself a contender for the $100,000 at-home prize at the season finale, Dorsey is more focused on being a happier, healthier husband and father for years to come.

"On the show you have two choices: You live for the show or you live for after the show," he said. "And you know what, I [am] living for after the show."

Katy Perry Gets a Heart-Shaped Ring from John Mayer

John Mayer put a ring on Katy Perry's finger – just not the kind you might expect.

After the couple was photographed leaving Vincenti, an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles, on Valentine's Day, Perry was spotted wearing a ruby on her ring finger, leaving many to ask if Mayer, 35, had popped the question.

Although Perry, 28, is beaming in the photo, a source tells PEOPLE the couple is "not engaged."

While the one-of-a-kind ring was created by Daniel Gibbings, a Santa Barbara based jeweler and designer, it may have nothing more than a Valentine's Day gift that a rep for Gibbings says the singer-songwriter selected himself.

Mayer was "really super nice" while shopping for his girlfriend, the rep adds.

But as for speculation over whether the heart-shaped ring could be seen as a possible engagement ring, the rep says that while it's not a traditional design, "it can be."

"[Gibbings] uses a lot of texture. The style of his engagement rings are not the usual Neil Lane looking ring. They are definitely more trendy or boho," the rep adds.

Man Utd Transfers: 10 Possible Improvements On Has-Beens Rio & Vidic

    Rio Ferdinand

The news today, via the Sun, that Sir Alex Ferguson doesn’t seem to fancy playing former first choice centre-half pairing Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand might come as a shock for Manchester United fans, but the fact is neither is getting younger, and though Ferdinand is currently being talked about as an England international again, neither is getting any better.

Captain Vidic was left out of United’s starting line-up for the Champions League draw against Real Madrid on Wednesday, despite playing the full game against Everton the previous Sunday.

    And Sir Alex Ferguson revealed:

"I had my doubts about whether I was doing the right thing or not because he was fantastic against Everton, but I stuck by what we've been doing with him.

"Three days to my mind was a risk.

"It would have been the same for Ferdinand.

"If he had played on the Sunday I would have had my doubts whether to play him on Wednesday."

So it looks like Rio and Vidic could well be heading out of the door, or at least out of the first team, as Fergie doesn’t have the confidence in their condition anymore. Coupled with his comments about Jonny Evans being a top defender, and needing an extended run in the first team, it definitely seems that the Vidic/Rio partnership is all but done.

Does this mean Man Utd need to go out and buy another pair of centre-halves?

    10. Adil Rami

    • Club: Valencia

Manchester United have now been linked with the Valencia defender for around a year, with the MailOnline linking the player with a 20million to Old Trafford back in February 2012, so they could well turn their attentions back to him to solve their current situation.

If United are indeed keen on limiting the pitch time of Vidic and Ferdinand, the Frenchman, who was part of Lille’s French title winning side two years ago would be a great fit for United. He is athletic, strong and quick and would have the experience to slot straight into the side.

Liverpool Transfers: 5 Better ‘Keeper Options Than Al-Habsi

    Julio Cesar

Jose Manuel Reina has been Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper since he signed for the club the start of the 2005-06 season; since then he has made 275 appearances and keeping an impressive 167 clean sheets in that time. However, this season, for the first time he has shown signs that mistakes are creeping into his game and with Barcelona rumoured to be interested in securing his services he could well be on his way out of Anfield this summer.

If Reina does return to Spain then Liverpool will have to go about the herculean task of replacing one of the best goalkeepers of the last ten years. The Daily Mail is reporting that after being priced out of a move for Stoke’s Asmir Begovic, Brendan Rodgers will make a move for Wigan’s Oman International, Ali Al-Habsi. Al-Habsi has been a first choice Premier League goalkeeper since 2006, first with Bolton Wanderers and for the last 3 seasons with Wigan and in that time he has proven that he is an excellent shot stopper with good positioning.

That said, at 31 years old he is older than Reina and Wigan are likely to hold out for as much money as possible; I think Liverpool have better options, both long and short term and I will share them with you now.

    5. Tim Krul – Newcastle United

    Krul

Newcastle’s number one came to prominence last season with a string of superb performances in Newcastle’s excellent season, which saw them qualify for European competition for the first time in 10 years.

His agility and shot stopping are just two of the qualities that have made him one of the most admired young goalkeepers in the country and are also two qualities that liken the Dutch International to Reina himself. His performances in the Premier League have also seen him take over from Martin Stekelenburg as the Netherlands first choice goalkeeper under new manager Louis Van Gaal.

He is likely to cost a fair amount judging by his age, but with the money Liverpool can command for Reina then that should not be a problem and in Krul they will get a reliable, confident and talented goalkeeper with a good ten years at the top left in him.
